Catalog Number NMNH G11441-00

Gift of Adam Neeley in 2012.

Three golden South Sea cultured pearls and two white Akoya cultured pearls (ranging in size from 4.5mm to 11.5mm) highlight the South Sea Glow Necklace. The pearls have beautiful luster and orient and range in color from silvery white to golden yellow. This hand fabricated pendant is made of Elektra Gold which transitions from 24 karat yellow gold gradually into a cool white gold. This special gold alloy combines with the pearls to create a dramatic gradient of color. The necklace won the top honor, the President’s Trophy, from the Cultured Pearl Association of America’s (CPAA) 2010 International Pearl Design Contest. It was generously gifted to the National Gem Collection by the designer, Adam Neeley, in 2012. Photo courtesy of Adam Neeley.
